Every year 1.5 million animals get adopted, however unfortunately over half of those animals get returned to rescues and shelters, and the number ONE reason is BEHAVIOR ISSUES. We are on a mission to stop this epidemic.
As most new dog owners, our natural instinct it to provide our dogs with an endless amount of love and affection. However it’s very important to remember that in order for your new companion to live a healthy balanced lifestyle, they not only need an abundance of TLC, but they also need guidance, structure, proper discipline, and most importantly time to adjust. Without these things, our dogs will most likely start developing bad habits and issues. In turn this may even cause us to wonder if we made the right decision about adopting a dog, in the first place.
We as trainers, rescue volunteers, and dog rescue parents ourselves, understand the emotional roller coaster that can occur when being the owner of an unbalanced dog. It’s not only frustrating for the owner, but it is for the dog as well. Dogs are domesticated animals and rely on humans for everything, which includes looking to you for guidance. When we do not set our dogs up for success by creating clear rules boundaries and limitations, in the end the one that ends up losing, is the dog.
In order to help avoid second guessing and prevent any unwanted behaviors issues from even starting, we have traveled the country to create a unique program to help start you and your dog up for success! If you have been struggling with your dog's behavior issues, or just want to avoid any problems down the road we have the answers.

TO UPHOLD THE LEVEL OF SERVICE AND SUCCESS RATE WE BELIEVE IN DHARMA CAN ONLY TAKE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF CLIENTS EACH MONTH. We want to work with the most dedicated clients that understand dog training is not a quick fix, and it is a journey, not a destination.
DHARMA REQUIRES AN IN PERSON CONSULTATION before we begin any training programs together which will serve as your first training session. This training consultation is a 2 hour training session where you learn the fundamentals of our pressure/release training methods, understand the foundation for our training plans, and the tools we use and why we use them. It is also so you can meet us and our PACK, so that we may better assess your dogs behavior and we can make sure this is the right training for you.
TRAINING CONSULTATIONS ARE CONDUCTED AT OUR FACILITY so we can determine how your dog deals with stress (while dogs will likely act differently in their own environment, we operate under a layered stress model and our programs teach dogs how to deal with stress). We have different programs for different levels of behavior issues, and that time we will recommend a training program based on your dogs needs. Our training programs will include training sessions in your home.
CURRENTLY PRIVATE CONSULTATIONS ARE BOOKING 6-8 WEEKS IN ADVANCE AND REQUIRE A DEPOSIT TO HOLD YOUR SPOT. Due to the high demand of our dog training services, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to hold the date of your consultation. No date is reserved on our calendar until the full consultation fee is received. If you must cancel your consultation, you must give Dharma Dog Training at least three weeks notice prior to cancellation to receive your 50% refund, giving us enough time to fill your spot with another client in need of help.
ALL OUR TRAINING PROGRAMS TAKE WORK AND COMMITMENT ON YOUR PART, please fill the REQUEST FORM below to find out what we can do for you and your dogs. The more information we have the better it will help us serve you. You will get a confirmation message once your form is submitted.
**PLEASE NOTE: If your dog is displaying AGGRESSIVE behavior and/or has bitten someone, please keep on a leash and use management tools to keep everyone safe until we can meet; leash, muzzle and a kennel.
Thank you and we so look forward to empowering you with tools that will CHANGE YOUR LIFE WITH YOUR DOG**

HEAR WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING...
"Things are going great! She's so well behaved on our walks and she's even figured out that crosswalks mean sit without needing to be told. We definitely want to come to a pack walk, I've had to work for the last couple. Thanks for checking in on us!"
-Samantha & Gertrud
"This training helped me bring Stubby into my home with Nala who I never thought would be comfortable living with another dog. We took it slow and I followed the tips in the training and looking at them today it's amazing!"
-Amie, Nala & Stubby
"We are beyond pleased with the training we got from Dharma Dog Training. Prior to their visit our dog Harley was unmanageable on walks. We had tried everything and we were at our ropes end. They introduced us to the training collar, which we were very hesitant of at first. As soon we placed the collar on Harley and walked us through several exercises he was a complete different dog. We never thought one session would make such a difference. We are so thankful for Dharma Dog Training because our walks are finally enjoyable!!!
-Love, Mike, Emily, and Harley K.
"Gina, thanks so much for your help with Petunia!!! My stubborn frenchie learned "come" within a few hours and even obeyed when a neighbor dog was in our yard yesterday. This training really works!"
-Rebecca Martinez & Petunia
"I thought I would let you know how much better play time is going with Joey. The pressure-release collar is amazing. He is learning VERY quickly now! The crate training is still tough right now, very up and down. But that is to be expected. Thanks again—you are very inspiring!"
- Alli and Joey
"Thank you again for your help and all that you are doing to help so many! All of the information that you gave us is great, practical and usable information and even as experienced owners, we learned a lot. It's so cool to us to hear Morgan speak of the admiration for what you do and the regard she and we hold for you! We love that she has such great models in the world! Thank you again and we'll talk to you soon!"
- Lynn, Morgan & Sadie
"The principles I learned from Dharma Dog Training helped us go from very chaotic walks that were frustrating for both of us, to much more relaxed and enjoyable walks where Ziggy and I can actually bond. He used to take all of his cues from the environment - where he was constantly zig zagging in front of me, stopping, lunging, sniffing at everything. They showed me how to do a structured walk where Ziggy now takes his cues only from me, walking in a perfect 'heel' position and he is so much more relaxed and calm now. They really do understand how a dog's mind works, and what motivates and encourages them. They also took the time to make sure that I understood all of their training principles and how to correctly and apply them to our specific situation."
-Lauren & Ziggy
"Before I became a dog dad, I was a guy who loved dogs but felt I didn't have the tools or knowledge to have one of my own. Because of Kelley and her staff I am now learning the right way to deal with situations that come up, proper leash techniques and Parker's socialization with other dogs. Dharma's patience, understanding and training is a huge reason our relationship is flourishing."
-Brian & Parker
